How fitting to dedicate Jaffrey's Town Report to Stephen Record. Steve proudly called Jaffrey his home and loved the setting, the schools, and the community. Steve embodied all that we value in the youth of our community. He was an Honor Roll student and a member of the Student Council.
He attended the Homeland Security Leadership Conference in Washington, DC. and volunteered for the C.A.R.E. program at JCS. He was a 3 sport athlete, recognized as a Monadnock League All-Star in both basketball and baseball. A captain this year, he treasured his back to back Stale Championships in basketball. Most importantly he gave back to his community. On any given day you could find Stephen working with Jaffrey’s youth, on the ball field teaching and coaching for Cal Ripken, on the court doing the same for the Rec Dept, or down at the beach having fun after a day of working at the Pure Shot camps.
Leadership in academics and athletics, building character, remaining humble, giving back to the community, that was Steve's makeup. Hundreds of citizens had a hand in Stephen's development as evidenced in his passing. Jaffrey should be proud of the impact it had on Steve and continue to strive to be the fertile garden for our youth today, creating our leaders for tomorrow.
